Sochi officials tackle resident complaints with mixed results at public meeting
Sochi's deputy mayors recently held a public reception to review progress on resident complaints. The meeting addressed a range of local issues, from infrastructure repairs to public transport updates. Several long-standing concerns were marked as resolved, while others received direct attention from city officials.
During the session, Dmitry Chernov confirmed that waste collection sites at 145 Kalarash Street had been fully cleared. Anna Dedyayeva also reported that Vodokanal workers had finished concreting a loose manhole cover in the area. Meanwhile, Maria Pogrebnyak assured residents that repairs on a water leak along Tuapsinskaya Street were actively ongoing.
Other requests saw positive outcomes as well. Irina Zaleppukhina's suggestion to add a '6 km' bus stop to Route No. 105A was carried out in full. David Safaryan's application for a temporary flower stall during holidays also received approval. Not all issues were resolved, however. Pavel Ilyichenko raised concerns about unfinished cleanup and delayed sidewalk repairs near Kindergarten No. 49. In response, Deputy Mayor Alexander Mitnikov took personal responsibility for overseeing the matter. The city reminded residents that they can still submit inquiries either in person or via the online reception service. For urgent concerns, the Mobile Reception Office allows consultations with specialists without prior appointments. Last year alone, Sochi's online system processed 47,892 public complaints and requests.
The reception highlighted both completed improvements and ongoing challenges in Sochi. Residents with unresolved issues can continue using the city's online or in-person services for follow-ups. Officials have pledged to monitor progress on the remaining tasks, including the repairs near Kindergarten No. 49.
