Solingen adjusts Easter opening hours for pools, museums and waste services
Solingen – Many municipal facilities will operate under adjusted opening hours over the Easter holidays, though a range of services—from museum visits to waste disposal—will still be available.
Culture: Museum Open, Library Limited
Those looking to spend the holidays exploring culture can visit the German Blade Museum, which will remain open throughout Easter—from Good Friday to Easter Monday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day.
The city library, however, will have restricted access: it will observe regular hours on Holy Saturday but will be closed on the public holidays.
Waste Disposal: Modified Easter Schedule
Waste services will also see changes. The waste-to-energy plant (MHKW) will be open on Holy Saturday from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM, while the Bärenloch waste disposal center will accept deliveries the same day between 7:30 AM and 12:15 PM.
Both facilities will return to their usual operating hours starting the Tuesday after Easter.
Pools: Different Rules for Family and Sports Facilities
Solingen's public pools have also adjusted their schedules for the holidays. The Vogelsang Family Pool will be open on Good Friday and Holy Saturday from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM but will be closed on Easter Sunday and Monday.
The Klingenhalle Sports Pool, meanwhile, will be closed on Good Friday, open on Holy Saturday from 6:30 AM to 1:00 PM, and—like the family pool—closed on Easter Sunday and Monday.
Theater: Box Office Closed—Online Booking Available
The box office at the Theater & Konzerthaus will remain closed throughout the Easter holidays, though tickets for performances can still be purchased online via the venue's website.
In summary: Despite some limitations, key municipal services will remain accessible over Easter. Cultural institutions, in particular, will welcome visitors, while other sectors have tailored their hours to accommodate the holidays.
