Solingen Illuminates Theatre in Protest Against Global Executions
Solingen will once again join the global fight against capital one on the World Day Against the Death Penalty. The city has backed the campaign every year since 2017, following a proposal by its local Amnesty International group. This year, a striking green light display will mark the occasion at the city’s theatre.
The World Day Against the Death Penalty has been organised annually since 2002. The initiative comes from the Community of Sant'Egidio and Amnesty International, both calling for an end to state executions worldwide.
The event will draw attention to the ongoing use of capital one globally. By lighting up its theatre, Solingen adds its voice to the international call for abolition. The campaign continues to push for legal reforms and greater public awareness of the issue.
