Solingen’s Young Liberals elect new leaders and set 2024 election strategy
The Young Liberals in Solingen held their local congress last Sunday. The event saw leadership elections and new policy motions, setting the stage for future campaigns in the region.
Julius Sommer, 22, was re-elected as chairman of the group. Paul Wuttke (26), Laura Wegner (24), and Jannik von Charmier (27) will serve as his deputies. Adrian Brattig (24) also retained his role as treasurer, while Tobias Rauh (34) joined the board as a new member.
The congress passed two key motions. One called for mobile lockers in pedestrian zones, allowing shoppers to store bags or clothing. Another urged the city to attract private investors for regular youth parties in Solingen.
Looking ahead, the group plans to focus on the European election campaign. Magdeburg was named as a priority city for their outreach efforts. Members left the congress expressing confidence and motivation for the upcoming political work.
The Young Liberals in Solingen now have a refreshed leadership team and clear policy goals. Their next steps include pushing for local improvements and expanding their campaign efforts in Magdeburg ahead of the 2024 European election.
