Somali man arrested after assaulting train attendant and fare evasion
A 32-year-old Somali man was arrested at Kiefersfelden station on March 7 after assaulting a train attendant and travelling without a ticket. Federal police officers detained him following the incident, which also revealed two outstanding arrest warrants against him.
The man had boarded a train without a valid ticket and became aggressive when confronted by a staff member. His behaviour led to charges of fare evasion, insult, assault, and illegal entry.
Authorities discovered he was already wanted under two separate warrants. One related to fare evasion, while the other involved document forgery. He had previously been fined nearly €1,300 but failed to pay, resulting in a custodial sentence of around 130 days. After his arrest, he was transferred to Bernau Prison to serve his sentence. No further details were provided on similar cases in Bavaria or Baden-Württemberg over the past year.
The man now faces imprisonment for his unpaid fines and the recent offences. His arrest follows a pattern of non-compliance with earlier court orders. The case highlights enforcement actions against fare evasion and related crimes on public transport.
