A 28-year-old man is under investigation for allegedly attacking his 65-year-old father with a knife in Dachau. The violent assault took place outside their home on Thursday evening, leaving the older man with serious injuries. Authorities have since classified the incident as an attempted homicide.

The attack unfolded outside a single-family home shared by the two men. The son reportedly used a knife, inflicting multiple slash and stab wounds on his father. During the altercation, a friend intervened and managed to disarm the suspect.

After the assault, the attacker fled onto a nearby road, forcing two cars to brake sharply to avoid a collision. Police quickly responded and apprehended the 28-year-old near the scene. Due to his psychological condition, a magistrate ordered his immediate placement in a psychiatric hospital. Investigators are still examining the motives behind the attack.
