Elderly Mother Pushed? Son Remains Silent in Court - Son faces trial after allegedly pushing his 91-year-old mother to her death
A 64-year-old man will stand trial for the death of his 91-year-old mother. The incident occurred when he allegedly pushed her, leading to severe injuries and her eventual passing.
The woman, residing in a homeless shelter, called the fire brigade after falling and being unable to get up. She was in severe pain and later underwent surgery for a pelvic fracture. Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries on April 13.
The defendant, her son, is accused of causing her fall. Emergency responders found the elderly woman sitting in an armchair, with her son admitting to pushing her. The trial, scheduled for five hearing dates, will conclude on November 28. Prosecutors argue the son should have foreseen the fatal outcome of his actions, given his mother's advanced age.
The son faces charges of bodily harm resulting in death. The trial aims to determine the extent of his responsibility in his mother's fatal fall.
