South Korea’s unification minister meets North Korean delegation in Seoul

Minister of Unification Chung Dong-young recently hosted two significant delegations in Seoul. On November 5, he met with a North Korean government delegation led by Kim Yong-nam, the former chairman of North Korea's Supreme People's Assembly. Later that week, he also welcomed a delegation from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).

The North Korean delegation, headed by Kim Yong-nam, was invited by Minister Chung Dong-young. Kim Yong-nam, who previously led the North Korean delegation to the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, is known for his contributions to inter-Korean dialogue. The meeting took place at the government complex in Seoul.

On November 8, Minister Chung delivered a lecture at the 2025 Youth Festa in southern Seoul. This event provided an opportunity for the minister to engage with young people and discuss his vision for the future.

Minister Chung's meetings with the North Korean delegation and SIPRI reflect his commitment to fostering dialogue and cooperation. His lecture at the Youth Festa demonstrates his dedication to engaging with the next generation on important issues.
