SP Launches Initiative to Ease Health Insurance Burden for Most Households
The Social Democratic Party (SP) is gathering in Sursee, canton Lucerne, this Saturday. The party will launch a popular initiative to ease the burden of health insurance costs for middle- and lower-income households. The initiative, 'Premium reductions to boost purchasing power', aims to benefit a significant majority of insured individuals.
The initiative seeks to reduce premiums for 85% of insured persons. It proposes financing this reduction by capping increases for the wealthiest 15% and providing free premiums for minors. The party will adopt a position paper on regulating the power of large technology companies, including a genuine right to digital integrity. Delegates will also decide on various ballot issues, including the initiative for a citizens' service, three other federal referendums, and initiatives to recognize the State of Palestine and protect permafrost.
The SP's meeting in Sursee will see the launch of a significant initiative to reduce health insurance costs for most households. Alongside this, the party will address the power of Big Tech and decide on several upcoming ballot issues, demonstrating a broad agenda for the upcoming political season.
