SPD Finalizes Candidate List for 2026 County Council Election
The SPD in the Fürstenfeldbruck district has finalised its candidate list for the 2026 county council election. Led by Andreas Magg, the mayor of Olching, the list includes five current Kreistag members seeking re-election. Magg, previously nominated as the Landrat candidate, has criticised the incumbent for not actively shaping the county.
The SPD list features Norbert Seidl, Petra Weber, Waltraut Wellenstein, Dr. Christoph Maier, and Daniel Liebetruth, all vying for re-election. Weber, the deputy local chairwoman of Puchheim, secures the second spot on the list. Other candidates include Julia Worch from Olching, Gregor von Uckermann from Gröbenzell, and Jean-Marie Leone from Puchheim. Notably, Margit Quell from Mammendorf will not be running for the Kreistag this time.
The SPD district association's proposal list was voted for unanimously by the delegates present, with no opposition candidates raised. Meanwhile, the CSU has nominated Martin Urban as their candidate for the mayoral election, but the CSU candidate for the 2026 district council election remains unspecified. Michael Schrodi, the Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Finance, briefly addressed the SPD's federal achievements.
The SPD's candidate list for the 2026 county council election is now set, with Andreas Magg leading the charge. The list includes a mix of experienced Kreistag members and new candidates, aiming to actively shape the county's future. The election promises a contest of ideas, with the SPD's list now complete and the CSU's candidate for the district council election yet to be announced.
