Speed camera covered with bedsheet - Speed Camera in Germany Found Wrapped in a Duvet Cover
A speed camera in Hopfen am See, part of the Ostallgäu district, was found wrapped in a duvet cover and tape early Sunday morning. The device is now back in operation after police removed the makeshift disguise.
A passing motorist spotted the concealed camera and alerted authorities. The cover had been secured tightly, blocking the camera's measurement and flash components.
Police arrived at the scene and carefully removed the duvet and tape. They confirmed the device was still functional but are now checking for any potential damage. Investigators have not yet identified who was responsible for the act.
Under German law, tampering with or obstructing speed enforcement equipment is a criminal offence. Authorities have not released further details about the ongoing investigation.
The speed camera is now fully operational again. Police continue to examine whether the incident caused any lasting harm to the device. Anyone found responsible could face legal consequences.
