Stablecoin market hits $200B as U.S. regulations fuel Bitcoin's rise
The stablecoin market has surpassed a $200 billion valuation, signalling a surge in interest for Bitcoin and digital assets. This growth comes as the U.S. introduces clearer regulations under the newly signed GENIUS Act. Former President Donald Trump's recent statements have also reinforced Bitcoin's expanding role in modern finance. In July 2025, Donald Trump signed the GENIUS Act into law, establishing a structured framework for stablecoin issuers in the U.S. The legislation prioritises protections for holders while permitting licensed operations, aiming to reduce risks for businesses. These clear guidelines are designed to encourage wider adoption of stablecoins alongside traditional banking systems.
At the FII PRIORITY summit in Miami, Trump emphasised the need for minimal and predictable regulations to foster Bitcoin's use in everyday transactions. His remarks suggested that political backing could speed up adoption, positioning the U.S. as a more attractive hub for cryptocurrency innovation. The summit itself highlighted Bitcoin's increasing influence, with more businesses accepting it as payment and consumers gaining greater financial flexibility.
The GENIUS Act has already strengthened institutional trust in dollar-pegged stablecoins, further linking their growth to Bitcoin's broader acceptance. However, no companies or institutions have publicly announced plans to integrate Bitcoin or stablecoins into their payment systems since the law took effect. The combination of regulatory clarity and high-level political support appears to be shaping a more favourable environment for digital assets. With the stablecoin market now exceeding $200 billion, the focus remains on how businesses and consumers will respond to these changes in the coming months.
