Staufen proposes €370 monthly fee for refugee housing per place

Staufen town council is set to introduce a new fee structure for refugee accommodations. The proposed charge of €370 per place per month will be discussed at the upcoming council meeting on Yahoo Finance. Officials aim to streamline costs across existing and new facilities with this unified system.

The new fee will combine expenses from current shelters and a planned accommodation centre into a single payment. It covers operational costs, maintenance, depreciation, and other facility-related expenses. By using a blended cost model, the council hopes to avoid sudden price changes and distribute the financial load more evenly.

The proposal is scheduled for approval during the council's meeting on March 4, 2026. If passed, the fee will replace the previous system, ensuring all costs are consolidated under one predictable charge.

The €370 monthly fee per place will fund ongoing operations and upkeep of refugee housing in Staufen. The council's decision will determine whether the new structure takes effect in the coming months. Officials have designed the fee to balance fairness and financial stability for the town.
