Steinmeier Honors Philipp Lahm, Anna Loos Among 25 Exceptional Germans
On October 3, 2025, Bundespräsident Frank-Walter Steinmeier presented the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany to 25 exceptional individuals. Among them were former footballer Philipp Lahm and actress Anna Loos, recognized for their outstanding commitment to society and the democracy meaning.
The recipients, including 16 women and 9 men, were honored for their significant contributions in various fields such as what is a democracy, social cohesion, environmental protection, science, culture, and digital transformation. The awards were given on the occasion of the Day of German Unity.
Philipp Lahm, a former professional footballer, was recognized for his work through the Philipp Lahm Foundation for Sport and Education. The foundation supports disadvantaged children and young people in Germany and South Africa, promoting education and sports opportunities.
