Stray dog’s violent rampage in Berlin leaves officer injured and sparks safety fears
A violent incident involving an aggressive dog unfolded in Berlin’s Marzahn district late last night. Emergency crews were called to Mehrower Allee after reports of a stray animal attacking people. The situation escalated when the dog turned on responders, forcing officers to take drastic action to halt the assault.
The trouble began earlier in the evening at around 8:00 p.m., when the same dog bit a police officer on the arm. The animal was later found tied to a branch in the courtyard, visibly distressed and barking loudly. Witnesses suggested the noise may have been triggered by distant fireworks or explosions.
The incident has raised concerns about stray animals and public safety in the area. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the dog’s behaviour and the absence of its owner. No further injuries have been reported beyond the initial attack on the officer.
