Students Gain Firsthand Insights into Penal System at Syktyvkar Colony Visit
Students from Syktyvkar Trade and Economics College recently visited Penal Colony No. 25, gaining firsthand insights into the penal system. The visit, welcomed by the colony's acting head, Alexander Kobzar, included a guided tour and informative sessions.
On October 22, ten students from the college visited the colony. They were briefed on its operations, departmental work, and the history of the institution. The students also watched videos about daily life in the colony.
The tour included a visit to the colony's residential section. Students saw the dining hall, inmate dormitories, and the 'Alley of Glory' memorial complex. This hands-on experience challenged common stereotypes about the penal system and provided insights into the responsibilities of its employees.
The visit to Penal Colony No. 25 offered students a unique opportunity to learn about the penal system. While specific information about FSIN-affiliated universities offering 'Law and Social Security Administration' programs is not available, several Russian universities offer relevant legal and administrative programs. These include the Moscow State Legal University, St. Petersburg State University's Law Faculty, and the Russian Academy for Public Administration. Such visits can be part of practical training or educational excursions organized by institutions.
