Suffolk bolsters its mid-Atlantic management team with strategic recruits for two key positions, aimed at fostering growth in high-demand sectors within the region.
Suffolk, a leading builder in the United States, has bolstered its team with the addition of two seasoned industry veterans, Darick Edmond and Vail McMillian.
Suffolk, ranked #8 on ENR's list of 'Largest Domestic Builders' and #10 on its list of 'Top CM-at-Risk Contractors', is known for managing some of the most complex, sophisticated projects in the country. The company serves clients across various major industry sectors.
Darick Edmond joins Suffolk as Vice President of Project Development, returning to the company after an eight-year absence. He will focus on supporting strategic growth and execution throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Mr. Edmond is renowned for his ability to lead complex, high-stakes projects from preconstruction through delivery. His past work includes George Mason University's Life Sciences and Engineering Building, The Boro mixed-use development, and healthcare and institutional work at Virginia Hospital Center.
Vail McMillian, on the other hand, joins as Director of Preconstruction. He comes to Suffolk from Consigli, where he helped lead the estimating efforts for high-profile public and institutional projects. Mr. McMillian's background in early-phase cost planning and risk mitigation will help shape Suffolk's project pipeline and guide teams to deliver value-driven solutions from the earliest stages of the project cycle. He will oversee preconstruction and estimating across Mid-Atlantic projects and select national federal pursuits.
Suffolk's commitment to operational excellence starts at the earliest stages of project planning, a commitment that extends to its national growth strategy. The company's Mid-Atlantic region is expanding as part of this strategy.
Suffolk's vertical service lines include real estate capital investment, design, self-perform construction services, technology startup investment, and innovation research/development. The company, which is privately held and led by Founder, Chairman, and CEO John Fish, provides value throughout the entire project lifecycle with its core project management services and vertical service lines.
With more than $8 billion in annual revenue and over 3,000 employees, Suffolk is a national enterprise that builds, innovates, and invests. The company's hands-on understanding of restoration projects and complex cost environments in the federal space, coupled with the expertise of Mr. Edmond and Mr. McMillian, positions it well for continued success.
