Sulzemoos election reshapes local council with key seat shifts

The municipal election in Sulzemoos on 8 March 2026 has reshaped the local council. Preliminary results show a 20-seat Gemeinderat, with shifts in representation among several voters' groups. At least six members from WGS and WGW have secured positions, while other lists like FWE and WGO will fill remaining spots.

The election brought notable changes to the council's composition. The Orthofen Voters' Group (WGO) gained an extra seat, increasing its presence. Meanwhile, the Sulzemoos Voters' Association lost one of its seats.

Markus Winter of WGS emerged as the top vote-getter, receiving 1,020 ballots. His strong performance highlights the party's continued influence in the community. The Free Voters' Association Einsbach (FWE) also secured an additional seat, expanding its role in local decision-making. With preliminary counts still being finalised, further allocations from WGS, WGW, and other lists will complete the 20-member council.

The election results reflect shifts in local political support, with WGO and FWE gaining ground while the Sulzemoos Voters' Association sees a reduction. Markus Winter's leading vote total underscores WGS's prominence in the new council. Final seat distributions will confirm the full makeup of the Gemeinderat.
