Suspected Arsonist Arrested in Neukölln After Series of Vehicle Fires
A suspected arsonist has been arrested in Neukölln following a series of vehicle fires on Sonnenallee and Erkstraße. The 28-year-old man was detained near the scene and taken into custody for investigation.
The spate of fires began on Sonnenallee where rubbish was set alight, damaging a parked Volkswagen. Later, a Mercedes box van and a Nissan SUV were also damaged by the blaze. In a separate incident, a Jeep Cherokee was set on fire on the same street.
A Ford transit van caught fire in nearby Erkstraße. The arrested man was found near the scene and is suspected of starting the fires. He has not been identified in available sources and is not known to have been linked to other arson incidents in the area.
The arrested man is being held in police custody and is being investigated by the arson unit. The cause of the fires and any potential motive remain under investigation.
