Sverdlovsk Regions to Test Emergency Sirens in March 2026 Drills
Civil defense drills will take place in Sverdlovsk Regions on March 4, 2026. The exercises, held twice a year, will briefly activate sirens and emergency alerts across the area. Residents have been advised to stay calm during the short test period.
The drills are scheduled between 10:40 and 10:43 a.m. During this time, electric sirens, factory whistles, and public address systems will sound. Over 200 fixed sirens and around 150 mobile loudspeaker units will be used.
Television broadcasts will also carry emergency alerts, followed by an informational announcement. The region's infrastructure ensures widespread coverage, reaching its population of roughly 4.27 million people.
Authorities have reminded the public that the signals are part of a routine exercise. No further action is required beyond staying informed and avoiding unnecessary alarm.
The brief activation of sirens and alerts will confirm the system's readiness. Residents can expect normal operations to resume immediately after the test. The region's civil defense measures remain in place for future emergencies.
