Sverdlovsk’s Yekaterinburg and Sysert win federal funding for innovative city projects
Two cities in Sverdlovsk Region have triumphed in the Best Municipal Practices competition. Yekaterinburg and Sysert have each secured third place in their respective categories, earning them recognition and a federal budget boost.
Yekaterinburg excelled in the 'Improving the Efficiency of Municipal Governance' category. The city's urban development and business environment initiatives impressed judges. Meanwhile, Sysert's unique branding campaign, 'Sysert: Creativity—the New Steel', earned it third place in the 'Enhancing Municipal Recognition' category.
Both cities will receive 30 million rubles from the federal budget. This funding will support further improvements in municipal governance and recognition. The Sverdlovsk Region Governor, Denis Pasler, praised the success stories of local residents in enhancing their towns and cities.
Yekaterinburg and Sysert's achievements will be published on the Ministry of Economic Development’s website as part of the best municipal practices of 2025. Their wins demonstrate the region's commitment to improving municipal governance and recognition, with more such successes expected in the future.
