Swiggy Honors 28 Women Redefining India's Food and Beverage Economy in 2026
Swiggy's 2026 She The Change initiative has celebrated women entrepreneurs reshaping India's food and beverage economy. The awards recognised 28 women across two categories: Entrepreneur of the Year and Chef of the Year. The ceremony highlighted their growing influence in driving innovation and economic growth beyond major cities.
Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister of Tourism & Culture, attended the event alongside Sriharsha Majety, Co-Founder and CEO of Swiggy. Both emphasised the pivotal role of women-led businesses in transforming India's culinary landscape.
The initiative showcased women who are redefining the food industry through creativity and leadership. Honorees included Aditi Dugar of Masque, Alina Alam of Mitti Cafe, and Saloni Kukreja of Indu Ice Cream. Their work spans fine dining, social enterprises, and artisanal food production, reflecting the diversity of women's contributions to the Indian economy.
Swiggy's platform now lists over 70,000 women-run restaurants, creating jobs and expanding culinary choices nationwide. Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy Food Marketplace, reaffirmed the company's commitment to supporting these entrepreneurs with resources and visibility.
Shekhawat noted that women-led businesses are key to India's economic expansion, particularly in smaller towns and rural areas. The awards aimed to spotlight their achievements while encouraging more women to enter the sector.
