Swiss Senator Pirmin Bischof Hospitalized, Misses Winter Session
Pirmin Bischof, a Council of States member for The Centre from Solothurn, will miss the entire winter parliamentary session. The absence follows a severe gastrointestinal infection that has required hospital treatment. His duties will now be handled by a temporary replacement.
Bischof has served in Parliament since 2007, starting in the National Council before moving to the Council of States in 2011. His long-standing role in the Solothurn faction makes his absence notable.
The temporary leadership change ensures the Solothurn faction remains active during Bischof’s treatment. Häberli-Koller’s role as vice chair positions her to manage responsibilities until his return. The exact duration of his absence depends on his medical progress.
