Syktyvkar’s *Books of Fairy Tales* Exhibition Brings Russian Folklore to Life
A new interactive exhibition, Books of Fairy Tales, opened in Syktyvkar on 10 December 2025. The event, a main event in the cultural calendar, highlights the living traditions of Russian folklore, with the Republic of Komi playing a central role. Visitors will explore winter-themed displays, guided by reindeer and digital adaptations of Vasily Ignatov’s artwork.
Marina Burmistrova, Komi’s Minister of Culture and Archival Affairs, launched the exhibition. She stressed its importance in preserving and promoting the region’s heritage. The Komi delegation, led by Deputy Chairman Sergey Yemelyanov, showcased local legends and fairy-tale figures from the Komi epic.
The Books of Fairy Tales exhibition runs as part of a wider effort to celebrate Russia’s cultural diversity. Komi’s participation, with its unique traditions and digital storytelling, offers a fresh way to engage with centuries-old legends. The event remains open to the public in Syktyvkar.
