Syrian Arrivals in Germany Drop by 46.5% in First Nine Months of 2025

In the first nine months of 2025, approximately 40,000 Syrians arrived in Germany, marking a significant decrease of 46.5 percent compared to the same period in 2024, when around 74,600 Syrian arrivals were registered.

The decline in Syrian arrivals in Germany from January to September 2025 was confirmed by local registration offices nationwide. These offices, known as 'Meldebehörden', registered around 40,000 arrivals from Syria during this period. This figure is roughly half the number of Syrian nationals who arrived in Germany in the first nine months of 2024.

The decrease in arrivals can be attributed to various factors, including improved conditions in Syria, stricter immigration policies, and increased awareness of the challenges faced by refugees in Germany.

The reduction in Syrian arrivals in Germany from January to September 2025, compared to the same period in 2024, reflects a significant shift in migration patterns. While the reasons behind this decline are complex, it is clear that the situation in Syria and German immigration policies have played a significant role.
