Syrian Man, 24, to Face Court for Robbing 83-Year-Old Acquaintance at Knifepoint
A 24-year-old Syrian man is due in court today, accused of robbing an 83-year-old acquaintance at knifepoint on Monday. The suspect, whose name has not been released, was arrested near the scene on Corneliusstraße. The incident occurred at 2:05 PM. The suspect, who has a history of drug-related offenses, argued with the elderly man over money before grabbing a kitchen knife and threatening him. He then stole cash and the man's mobile phone before fleeing. Police were alerted and apprehended the suspect nearby. Remarkably, the elderly man was unharmed and his belongings were later returned. The suspect, who has previously come to law enforcement attention, will appear before an investigating magistrate today. The elderly man's family has been informed and offered support.
