Syrian man arrested on German highway over €1,200 fraud warrant

A 28-year-old Syrian man has been arrested during a routine border check on the A3 highway. Federal Police stopped an international coach outlet travelling from the Netherlands into Germany. The man was wanted for fraud and faced an unpaid fine of €1. The incident took place when officers boarded the coach outlet as part of standard border controls. They identified the passenger as the subject of an active warrant issued by the public prosecutor’s office in Dessau-Roßlau. Authorities had linked him to fraud charges, with a pending penalty of either a €1,200 fine or a 30-day prison term. The man settled the fine in cash and was allowed to continue his journey. His arrest and payment resolved the immediate legal issue, preventing a prison sentence. Federal Police confirmed the incident as part of their routine border security operations.
