Teen Girl Attacked in Berlin Over Headscarf in Broad Daylight
A 16-year-old girl was attacked in Berlin's Märkisches Viertel after an unknown man targeted her headscarf. The incident happened in broad daylight along Dannenwalder Weg, leaving the teenager with neck pain from the assault. Police have now taken over the investigation.
The attack took place at around 12:15 p.m. as the girl walked along Dannenwalder Weg. A stranger approached her, made offensive remarks about her headscarf, and tried to forcefully pull it off. The violent tugging caused her to be choked, resulting in immediate neck pain.
The assailant fled the scene shortly after the assault. Emergency services attended to the victim before handing her over to her guardians at the location. The State Protection Division of Berlin's criminal investigation department has since assumed responsibility for the case.
