Teen Pedestrian, Cyclist Injured in Kreuzberg Collision
An investigation is underway following a traffic accident in Berlin's Kreuzberg district yesterday afternoon. A 14-year-old pedestrian and a 43-year-old cyclist were injured at the intersection of Gneisenaustraße and Schleiermacherstraße around 4:30 PM.
The pedestrian, who was crossing the median strip, allegedly ran onto the road between glass containers, causing a collision with the cyclist. Both individuals fell and were taken to hospitals for treatment. The cyclist was treated and released, while the pedestrian had to be admitted for further treatment. The traffic accident commission of the police directorate 5 (City) is conducting further investigations.
The incident is being probed by the police, who will determine the cause of the accident and any potential liability. The pedestrian's condition is currently unknown, but the cyclist has been discharged from the hospital.
