Seriously Injured Person Found - Possible Case of Self-Defense - Teenager critically injured in New Year’s Day dispute linked to earlier brawl
An 18-year-old was found badly injured in Sterbfritz, Main-Kinzig district, on New Year’s Day. The teenager was discovered inside the home of a 60-year-old man, who was briefly detained before being released. Police are now examining whether the injuries resulted from self-defence during a dispute.
The incident may be linked to an earlier altercation in Ingolstadt. Two Eritrean men, aged 39 and 29, reportedly argued in a restaurant on Ettinger Straße around 11:50 PM on December 30, 2025. Their confrontation then spilled outside, turning physical.
Witnesses confirmed a clash between the two men. The exact connection to the teenager’s injuries remains unclear, but investigators are exploring all angles. Authorities have not ruled out other possibilities as the case develops.
The 60-year-old suspect was questioned and later freed. Police continue to gather evidence, including witness statements and forensic details. The investigation remains active, with no charges filed so far.
