Teenager Severely Injured in Reinickendorf Traffic Accident

A serious traffic accident in Reinickendorf left a 17-year-old female severely injured. The teenager was crossing Aroser Allee at a red light when she was struck by a 65-year-old man driving a BMW. The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, causing temporary road closures and affecting public transport.

The girl was thrown into the air and landed unconscious on the road, sustaining severe injuries. Emergency services rushed her to the hospital. The accident happened at the intersection of Gotthardstraße, leading to the closure of Aroser Allee from Lindauer Allee for rescue operations and investigation. This closure affected BVG bus lines 122 and 125.

A specialized traffic crime unit is now investigating the incident. Witnesses reported that the BMW driver hit the female while she was crossing the street, despite the red light indicating she had the right of way.

The investigation into the incident continues, with the specialized traffic crime unit working to determine the exact cause of the collision. Aroser Allee has since reopened to traffic, and BVG bus services have resumed their normal routes.
