Teenagers arrested after failed armed robbery at Hanover gas station
At around 8:20 p.m., two of the youths entered the station and approached the counter. One of them allegedly threatened the 39-year-old employee with a pistol, demanding the contents of the cash register. Meanwhile, the third suspect stood guard outside the door.
The employee, however, refused to be intimidated. Doubting the gun was real, he refused to hand over the money and instead triggered the alarm. The trio then fled the scene on foot.
A swift police search in the surrounding area led to their identification and provisional arrest. The employee was physically unharmed.
Authorities have launched a criminal investigation for attempted aggravated robbery. After processing, the teenagers were released to their legal guardians.
