The airline has been hermetically enclosed or tightly shut off.
On July 25, 2025, an S7 Airlines Boeing-737 flight S7 5103, a 2001 model with seating for 176 passengers, encountered a cabin pressure control system issue while en route from Novosibirsk to Sochi.
The aircraft sent an emergency signal and circled the airport before making a safe landing. After landing, the plane returned to the airport of departure for further checks on the cabin pressure regulation system.
During the circling period, the aircraft burned fuel in the Chulym area for safety reasons. The airline promptly arranged a replacement aircraft for the passengers, who were later reboarded and continued their journey to Sochi.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Western Siberian Transport Prosecutor's office.
This incident comes shortly after a fatal crash of an An-24 in Russia’s far east, raising concerns about older aircraft safety in the region. However, no casualties or serious injuries were reported in this Boeing-737 incident.
The incident was captured in a photo by Flightradar. The aircraft landed safely at Tolmachevo Airport around 11:30 AM.
- The industry for aviation suffered a momentary setback when S7 Airlines experienced an unforeseen issue with their Boeing-737's cabin pressure control system, surprisingly involving finance aspects due to the fuel burned during the safety circling in the Chulym area.
- Despite the incident causing temporary concerns in the transportation sector and raising questions about the safety of older aircraft, particularly following a tragic An-24 crash, it's reassuring that theBoing-737 incident resulted in no casualties or serious injuries, underlining the robustness of the modern aviation and finance industry.
