There are group of people holding placards and walking. These are the trees. I can see small bushes. This is the banner. I can see a building with name boards attached to it. These look like cars. I think these are the current polls.

The Nature Conservancy hires ex-GOP officials to push environmental policies in Washington

The Nature Conservancy has brought in four ex-Republican officials to push its environmental policies in Washington. The move signals a fresh effort to engage with the GOP and the current administration. A lobbying registration was filed earlier this month to formalise the arrangement.

The conservation group has enlisted Alexander Angelson, Brittan Specht, Jason Yaworske, and Preston Hill for its lobbying work. All four previously held positions within the Republican Party. Their firm, Michael Best Strategies, submitted the necessary paperwork this month.

The new hires will focus on advancing The Nature Conservancy’s agenda in Congress and with the White House. The organisation aims to strengthen ties with Republican leaders who often shape environmental policy. This strategy reflects a broader push to find common ground on conservation issues.

The lobbying team’s registration confirms the group’s intent to work closely with GOP figures. Their experience in Republican politics could help shape discussions on land protection, climate measures, and funding. The outcome of these efforts will depend on how lawmakers respond to the outreach.
