Thieves raid Salzgitter gaming lounge in overnight burglary
A gaming lounge in Salzgitter was broken into overnight, with thieves stealing cash from several machines. Police are now searching for witnesses after the burglary caused damage worth thousands of euros. The break-in happened on Albert-Schweitzer-Straße between Monday night and Tuesday afternoon. Unknown intruders forced their way into the lounge between 11:00 PM on Monday and 4:30 PM the following day. Once inside, they pried open multiple gaming machines and took the money stored within.
After the theft, the burglars fled in an unknown direction. Authorities have launched an investigation and are reviewing any available evidence. According to a police statement, no similar incidents have been reported in Salzgitter or nearby areas over the past year.
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward. Witnesses or those with relevant details should contact Salzgitter police immediately.
