Thieves Rob Multiple Residents in Senior Home - Thieves ransack nursing home, stealing €10,000 from elderly residents
A nursing home in Neuburg an der Donau has been burgled, with thieves stealing cash and jewellery from elderly residents. The break-in happened over the weekend, yet staff noticed nothing unusual at the time. Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward with any information.
The burglary took place between Saturday and Sunday, while many residents were away from their rooms. Unknown intruders targeted ten cabinets, taking items worth nearly €8,000. When including the cost of damaged furniture, the total loss rises above €10,000.
Investigators remain unsure how the thieves entered the building and avoided detection. The facility often sees visitors over weekends, which may have made it harder to spot unauthorised individuals. Staff working during the incident reported no suspicious activity at the time. Police have launched an investigation and are asking anyone with potential leads to contact them.
The stolen items have not yet been recovered, and the method of entry remains unclear. Authorities continue to gather evidence while urging the public to assist with the case. Residents and staff at the nursing home have been left shaken by the incident.
