Three arrested for vandalizing election posters in Hanau ahead of vote
Three young adults were arrested in Froschhausen on Friday evening after allegedly vandalising election posters. Police detained the suspects, aged 18, 19, and 20, following an emergency call from a passing motorist. The incident is now under investigation for criminal damage.
The vandalism took place around 9:10 p.m. on Seligenstädter Straße in Hanau, Germany. Witnesses reported seeing the group targeting posters belonging to two political parties. Officers later found the trio on Offenbacher Straße, where they were carrying a metal hook believed to have been used in the damage.
The suspects were quickly apprehended after the road user alerted authorities. Police confirmed the vandalism was linked to election materials, though the specific parties affected have not yet been named.
