Three Groundbreaking Projects Win the Albert O. Hirschman Voice Award for Unity
Three innovative projects that foster dialogue and unity have been recognised with the Albert O. Hirschman Voice Award. The winners, announced on November 7 at Berlin’s TAK Theater, are Happy Monday – Wjesoła pónźela, Jassa choir, and We Want to Live collective. Each project received an equal share of the €15,000 prize.
Jassa choir, a choral group, empowers FLINTA (female, lesbian, intersex, non-binary, trans, and agender) individuals. They explore personal narratives through choral works by women and queer composers. In 2022, they received the Albert O. Hirschman Voice Award at the TAK Theater in Berlin, sharing the stage with notable voices from Gaza and Israel.
We Want to Live collective's 'Voices from Gaza and Israel' project facilitates direct dialogue between Palestinians and Israelis. The initiative aims to counter polarization and create spaces for discourse, embodying the spirit of Albert O. Hirschman.
Happy Monday – Wjesoła pónźela brings people together in Bautzen through multilingual, community-focused events. This project also received the prestigious award, demonstrating its impact in fostering unity and understanding.
