The fire began in the basement of a home in Eberholzen. A 63-year-old resident and a 67-year-old neighbour rushed to extinguish it before emergency services reached the scene. The homeowner suffered severe burns and was later airlifted to a specialist clinic for intensive care.
Around 120 firefighters were called to the incident. During the operation, one firefighter injured their knee. The neighbour, who had helped fight the fire, collapsed and required resuscitation at the scene. No updates on the condition of those injured have been reported since the incident.
