Application Start for Thuringian Democracy Prize - Thuringia Democracy Award 2025 Now Open: Honouring Inclusive Initiatives
The Thuringia Democracy Award has opened its latest round of submissions, honouring initiatives that promote an open and inclusive everyday culture in the region. The award, established in 2013, is part of Thuringia's state program for Democracy, Tolerance, and Global Engagement.
Applications are welcome until November 30. A jury, comprising various representatives, will select the winners from this year's submissions. The award ceremony is scheduled for May 2025. Three main prizes, totalling €6,000, and four recognition awards of €500 each will be given. Education Minister Katharina Schenk (SPD) stressed the importance of courage, conviction, and responsibility in democracy. The specific jury members for the Thuringia Demokratiepreis 2025 have not been officially announced yet.
The Thuringia Democracy Award encourages initiatives fostering an open and inclusive culture. With a total prize money of €7,000 and recognition awards, it aims to honour and support such efforts. The submission deadline is November 30, with the award ceremony taking place in May 2025.
