Tinsukia celebrates 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’ with patriotic fervor and unity
Tinsukia, Assam, marked the 150th anniversary of the iconic song 'Vande Mataram' with a grand event on November 7. The celebration, organized by the Tinsukia district administration, saw the attendance of several dignitaries, including Minister Rupesh Gowala, District Commissioner Swapneel Paul, Senior Superintendent of Police Mayank Kumar, and District Development Commissioner Pabitra Kumar Das.
The event began with an inaugural address by Tinsukia MLA Sanjoy Kishan. He highlighted the significance of 'Vande Mataram' in India's independence movement and its enduring impact on the nation's unity.
The main attraction was a soulful performance of the song by students from government schools and Co-District Commissioner's offices across the district. The rendition was a testament to the song's power to unite and inspire.
Assistant Professor Biswajit Phukan from Bir Raghav Moran Government Model College, Doomdooma, delivered an insightful speech. He delved into the history and influence of 'Vande Mataram', tracing its role in the country's freedom struggle.
