Tokyo's Symbol Lit Up in Colors of Kazakh Flag - Video
Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev began an official visit to Japan on December 17, 2025. During his stay, he met with Emperor Naruhito and attended a reception in his honour. The trip also included high-level political discussions and cultural engagements.
President Tokayev’s first stop was Meiji Jingu, Tokyo’s largest Shinto shrine. The visit highlighted the cultural ties between the two nations.
Later, he held talks with members of the Japan-Kazakhstan Parliamentary Friendship League. The delegation was led by Toshiaki Endo, with senior politician Akira Amari also present. In the evening, Emperor Naruhito hosted a formal reception for the Kazakh leader. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building was lit up in the blue and gold of Kazakhstan’s flag to mark the occasion.
The visit strengthened diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Japan. Meetings with key officials and symbolic gestures like the flag illumination underscored the significance of the trip. Tokayev’s schedule included both political and cultural exchanges during his stay.
