63-Year-Old Dies in Head-On Collision in Lingen - Tragic B70 Accident: Woman Seriously Injured, Child and Father Hurt, One Dead
A tragic accident on the B70 in Lingen has left a 41-year-old woman with serious injuries and her three-year-old son and 49-year-old father with minor injuries. The incident, involving two cars, resulted in the death of a 63-year-old man and the complete closure of the federal highway for several hours.
The crash occurred on the B70 between the Darme and Laxten exits, heading towards Meppen. The family was travelling in one vehicle when a 63-year-old man, driving another car, suddenly veered into their lane, causing a head-on collision. The woman suffered serious injuries, while her son and father sustained minor injuries. They were all taken to a hospital for treatment.
The 63-year-old driver, unfortunately, did not survive the crash. Police have launched an investigation into the incident, led by an officer whose name has not been made public. The federal highway was closed in both directions for several hours to facilitate emergency services and the investigation.
The family involved in the crash is receiving medical attention, with the woman's condition described as serious. The cause of the accident is under investigation by local police. The B70 has since reopened to traffic.
