Train conductor assaulted after enforcing dog muzzle rules in Germany
A train conductor was assaulted at Plochingen station on Friday evening after reminding a passenger about muzzle rules for dogs. The confrontation turned violent when the man, travelling with an unleashed pitbull, attacked the rail employee before fleeing the scene.
The incident took place aboard a regional express service heading to Stuttgart. When the conductor asked the passenger to muzzle his pitbull, the man responded with verbal abuse and threats. The situation escalated quickly, and the suspect struck the employee in the hand with his fist.
Witnesses described the attacker as around 1.90 metres tall, heavily built, with short hair and a full beard. After the assault, he left the train with his dog, disappearing in an unknown direction. Federal police have launched an investigation on suspicion of assault. Authorities are now searching for the man in connection with the attack.
The conductor suffered an injury to the hand during the altercation. Police continue to appeal for witnesses who may have seen the suspect or the pitbull. No further details about the victim's condition or potential changes to dog travel rules have been released.
