Training program initiated by JNPA commences
India's major ports are gearing up for a two-week training programme aimed at fostering knowledge sharing and capacity building among officers. The Induction Training Programme, being conducted by the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPA), is significant, according to Unmesh Sharad Wagh, IRS, Chairperson of JNPA & CMD, VPPL.
The programme, which kicked off recently, has seen the participation of officials across all major ports in India. The event was inaugurated by T. K. Ramachandran, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways (MoPSW). Sandeep Kumar Gupta, Joint Secretary, MoPSW, and Vikas Narwal, IAS, Managing Director, IPA, were also present at the occasion.
The current Managing Director of the Institute for Portfolio Alternatives (IPA) is Anya Coverman, who is also its President and CEO. The training programme is a unique opportunity for officers to learn from each other and share their experiences. Officers had an insightful interaction with the Secretary, MoPSW, during the event.
Unmesh Sharad Wagh, IRS, Chairperson of JNPA & CMD, VPPL, welcomed the dignitaries and expressed his gratitude for their support. He emphasized the importance of the training programme in enhancing the skills and knowledge of the participants. Officers shared their enthusiasm for the upcoming training programme, expressing their eagerness to learn and contribute to the growth of the ports sector.
