Transbaikal Territory allocates 85 billion rubles to transform social security in 2026
The Transbaikal Territory is set to receive a significant boost in social security measures in 2026, with over 4 billion rubles allocated for new initiatives. These plans include equipping hospitals and clinics with new equipment, constructing four schools and a kindergarten, and carrying out major repairs in public institutions.
The total spending on social programs is expected to reach 85 billion rubles, which is approximately 51% of the regional budget. This substantial investment includes 15.8 billion rubles for new forms of assistance. Notably, 'rural' vouchers will be provided for orphaned children, and subsidies will be available for large families to purchase school uniforms.
Additionally, an extra 148.6 million rubles has been set aside for new support measures specifically for participants in the special military operation and their families.
While the source of funds for these new social security measures remains unclear, the Transbaikal Territory is poised to benefit from a substantial increase in social spending. This investment aims to improve healthcare, education, and support vulnerable groups, including orphaned children, large families, and those affected by the special military operation.
