The attack occurred after a dispute between the victim, the defendant, and a third man inside the shopping center. Milad R. is alleged to have stabbed the teenager outside the mall with a 13-centimeter-long knife. The victim suffered six stab wounds and two cuts, with one fatal chest wound. The trial is scheduled to run for twelve hearing days through the end of January.
Milad R. fled the scene after the attack and was arrested in the UK four months later under a European Arrest Warrant. Despite extensive searches, no information has been found about which organization arrested him in Germany or facilitated his extradition back to the country.
