Trump aide Susan Wiles diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer amid White House role
Susan Wiles, a senior figure in Donald Trump's political team, has been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. The White House director of personnel will undergo treatment while continuing her work, spending most of her time at the White House during this period.
Wiles, often known as Susie, has played a key role in Republican politics for years. She first gained prominence as chief strategist for Trump's 2016 Florida campaign. Her influence grew further when she helped Ron DeSantis win the Florida governor's race in 2018.
By 2020, she was leading Trump's Florida campaign again before taking charge of the Save America PAC after the election. Most recently, she co-managed Trump's successful 2024 presidential bid alongside political consultant Chris LaCivita. Before her political career, Wiles earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is also the daughter of Pat Summerall, a well-known American football player and sports commentator. Previously, she was married to lobbyist Lenny Wiles.
Doctors have given Wiles an excellent prognosis. She will remain active in her White House role while receiving treatment. Her diagnosis comes after decades of high-level campaign work for Republican leaders.
