Trump Honored in South Korea—but Did He Receive the Cheonmachong Crown?

A ceremony honouring U.S. President Donald Trump took place at the Gyeongju National Museum on October 29, 2021. However, no record exists of the Golden Crown of Cheonmachong being presented to him during this event.

During the official Korea-U.S. welcome ceremony, South Korean President Lee Jae Myung presented Donald Trump with the prestigious Grand Order of Mugunghwa. This high honour is awarded to foreign dignitaries for their significant contributions to the bilateral relationship between South Korea and the United States.

The ceremony also included the presentation of a model of the Gold Crown of Cheonmachong. However, no record or evidence shows that the actual crown was given to President Trump.

Despite the absence of records indicating the presentation of the Golden Crown of Cheonmachong, the ceremony at the Gyeongju National Museum marked a significant moment in the Korea-U.S. diplomatic history, with President Lee Jae Myung honouring President Trump with the Grand Order of Mugunghwa.
