Trump Organization ramps up foreign worker hires despite past immigration stance

The Trump Organization, led by former President Donald Trump, has sought to hire a significant number of foreign laborers since 2021, with a notable increase in requests for 2025. This move has sparked criticism from some quarters. The company has filed to hire 566 foreign workers since 2021, with roles primarily including servers, farm workers, and housekeepers. The Trump Organization has defended this practice, with Trump himself arguing that the U.S. lacks enough people with specific talents for certain jobs. The company's visa requests increased from 121 in 2021 to 184 in 2025, with these temporary positions sought through H-2A and H-2B visas for various company properties, including Mar-a-Lago, two golf clubs, and Trump Vineyard Estates in Charlottesville, Va. However, not everyone agrees with this approach. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) criticized Trump's remarks on foreign labor on the social platform X. Despite the increase in visa requests, it's important to note that there's no evidence suggesting the Trump Organization requested the highest number of foreign workers for various company locations in 2025. Instead, sources report a tightening of visa regulations and higher visa fees for foreign skilled workers in the U.S. under the Trump administration, aimed at encouraging the hiring of American workers.
